Pilgrimage to ROME - VATICAN - ASSISI

Rome is a unique centre of Christianity and culture as well as a noisy bustling metropolis with all the trappings of a modern capital.

Classical monuments like the Colosseum and Forum are a reminder of the glory of the Roman Empire.  The Sistine Chapel and the Pieta sculpture recall Renaissance times, when Michaelangelo, Bernini and other famous painters and sculptors could be found working in the city.  Piazza Navona, the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain are still popular places to meet and relax, just as they ever were.

Its grand architecture and priceless art treasures, guarantee that you will return with fond and lasting memories of the Eternal City.

The Vatican City, with its fascinating combination of ancient and modern civilisations, it can claim a similar title to Rome as it is still, without doubt, the capital of the Christian world.  The tombs of the apostles and the presence of our Holy Father make Vatican City one of the greatest pilgrimage destination ever.

Assisi is a uniquely preserved 13th century Unbrian hill town, home to St. Francis, the "apostle of the poors".

Renowed for his love of nature and simple lifestyle, this much loved saint was the first known Christian to bear the stigmata.  The spiritual legacy of this visionary is present throughout the enchanting and serene streets of Assisi.  Also entombed there, is his contemporary and close spiritual friend, St. Clare, the foundress of the Poor Clares.

Our visit to Assisi includes, the Convento di San Damiano, a small chapel in the valley, rebuilt by St. Fracis at the beginning of his ministry and the basilica, built over the tomb of Francis.  Take a qalk through the mediaeval-style streets of Assisi and it is easy to imagine the days when St. Francis and St. Clare lived here.
